Step 1: Choose the subject

Often the subject is determined by the curriculum and, therefore, limited. However, if you have more liberty when choosing a subject, you can get ideas from a variety of sources, such as:

  • Student experiences
  • A unique object that you or your students have brought into the classroom
  • An article that has attracted your attention
  • A subject that particularly interests you
  • An event or trend that has raised the curiosity of your students
  • A popular book from the library
  • Specialized skills or knowledge of one of your students
  • A common object that can be viewed from a new and different perspective

Step 2: Formulate the learning objectives
